چکیده
The existence (or not) of infinite clusters is explored for two stochastic models intersecting line segments in $d \ge 2$ dimensions. Salient features the phase diagram are established each case. based on site percolation ${\mathbb Z}^d$ with parameter $p\in (0,1]$. For occupied $v$, and $2d$ possible coordinate directions, declare entire segment from $v$ to next given direction be either blue or not according a rule. In one-choice model, declares one its incident blue. independent states different independent.

Invasion Percolation in Presence of Gravity
Simultaneous capillary dominated displacement of the wetting and non-wetting phases are processes of interest in many disciplines including modeling of the penetration of polluting liquids in hydrology or the secondary migration in petroleum reservoir engineering. Percolation models and in particular invasion percolation is well suited to characterize the slow immiscible displaceme...
متن کاملFinite-temperature local protein sequence alignment: percolation and free-energy distribution.
Sequence alignment is a tool in bioinformatics that is used to find homological relationships in large molecular databases. It can be mapped on the physical model of directed polymers in random media. We consider the finite-temperature version of local sequence alignment for proteins and study the transition between the linear phase and the biologically relevant logarithmic phase, where the fre...
متن کاملEffect of nanotube alignment on percolation conductivity in carbon nanotube/polymer composites
Percolation conductivity of a stick network depends on alignment as well as concentration. We show that both dependences exhibit critical (power-law) behavior, and study the alignment threshold in detail. The highest conductivity occurs for slightly aligned, rather than isotropic, sticks. Experiments on single wall carbon nanotube composites are supported by Monte Carlo simulations. These resul...
متن کاملWater Flooding Performance Evaluation Using Percolation Theory
Water flooding is a well-known secondary mechanism for improving oil recovery. Conventional approach to evaluate the performance of a water flooding process (e.g. breakthrough and post breakthrough behavior) is to establish a reliable geological reservoir model, upscale it, and then perform flow simulations. To evaluate the uncertainty in the breakthrough time or post breakthrough behavior, thi...

Let G be an infinite connected graph with minimum degree δ and maximum degree ∆. Let Gp be a random induced subgraph of G obtained by selecting each vertex of G independently with probability p, 0 < p < 1, and let G≤k p be the induced subgraph of Gp obtained by deleting all vertices of Gp with degree greater than k in Gp. We show that if δ ≥ 6 and ∆/δ is not too large then G≤3 p almost surely h...
